Art Scene Hampton Roads.com the visual arts resource guide/website for Hampton Roads is coming up on its 3rd anniversary and we are hoping to continue giving local artists a voice in the community and beyond.
We have built a solid following and it is the right time to offer a few sponsorship opportunities that will allow us to expand our scope including timely updates and additional contributors.
As the only site dedicated to this diverse group we have incorporated:
• Art Exhibit Openings
• Featured Artist Interviews
• Listings of the Hampton Roads & Richmond & Williamsburg Museums
• Listing of Art Galleries and Drawing Groups
• Local Artist Projects
• Art related Book and Movie Reviews
• Information on art exhibits in area restaurants, banks and hotels/convention centers.
• Call to Artist information and forms.
Yearly Sponsorship Opportunities:
Supporting Sponsor:
• 6 Ads (every other month or specific months) on Art Scene HR website to run a full month each. (Art Scene HR can produce the ads if requested.)
• All sponsor exhibits/events will be updated to our calendar throughout the year.
• Art Scene Hampton Roads Facebook will support and post sponsor events monthly.
• Art Scene will have a reporter at your event twice a year. (One event or more will be covered on the website and on Facebook.
$1200 per year.
Feature Sponsor
• Heading above one of our features (Book Review, Featured Artist, etc.) with your exhibit or event sponsorship tag. ie. “Our featured artist interview has been sponsored by _____… be sure to attend their opening reception on _______”. We will change the tag monthly .
• Sponsor exhibits/events will be updated to the website calendar throughout the year.
• Facebook Art Scene HR Group will mention sponsor events 6 times per year.

Late actress Elizabeth Taylor’s artwork sold for far more than expected when her unsigned Vincent Van Gogh piece “Vue de l’Asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy” sold for $16 million at auction at Christie’s in London.
The $16 million price was double the painting’s estimate and was sold to a mystery buyer. Taylor purchased the Van Gogh painting in 1963 and kept it all her life, hanging it above her mantle.
View of Asylum and Church at St. Remy was painted by Van Gogh in 1889. Ths painting is of the asylum Vincent stayed during his recovery after his ear incident and where the diagnosis of temporal lobe epilepsy was first mentioned. It was a sanctuary of sorts–where he painted two masterpieces, Starry Night, and Irises.
