The Healing Arts Project provides specially designed art classes and workshops for current members of the military as well as veterans. Led by art therapist Meghan Bernier this project’s focus is on a specific curriculum designed to re-build physical and emotional skill sets through art experiences and therapy.

Late actress Elizabeth Taylor’s artwork sold for far more than expected when her unsigned Vincent Van Gogh piece “Vue de l’Asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy” sold for $16 million at auction at Christie’s in London.
The $16 million price was double the painting’s estimate and was sold to a mystery buyer. Taylor purchased the Van Gogh painting in 1963 and kept it all her life, hanging it above her mantle.
View of Asylum and Church at St. Remy was painted by Van Gogh in 1889. Ths painting is of the asylum Vincent stayed during his recovery after his ear incident and where the diagnosis of temporal lobe epilepsy was first mentioned. It was a sanctuary of sorts–where he painted two masterpieces, Starry Night, and Irises.
